Ooltewah Elementary School

FEBRUARY 1, 2018 Newsletter

Dear OES Families,

OES Book Fair

Our annual book fair will take place from February 5-16.  This is a great opportunity for your child to purchase books for home and raise funds for our library.  Our librarian, Mrs. Smith, is still in need of volunteers to help with the Book Fair.  You can sign up at the following link.   Book Fair Volunteer Signup

Jump Rope for Heart

Thank you to all of our volunteers during our Jump Rope for Heart campaign.  We had a great time and raised money to help the American Heart Association.

Morning Arrival and Car Rider Drop Off

Remember, you have 3 options to bring your child to school in the morning: bus, car rider line or walk them in from the parking lot.  We do not have staff on duty in the parking lot, so for safety, students are not to be dropped off in the parking lot.  Also, the front of the school is reserved for buses and students with mobility challenges (wheelchair, etc.).  At 8:40, parents may park in the front to sign their child in the front office as tardy.

Parking in the back of the school

Parking in the back of the building is reserved for faculty, staff, and parents whose children are in special programs.  All families of children in Mrs. Thomas’ or Mrs. Gregory’s PreK classes must park in the parking lot next to the large playground.

Our PTA is the best.  Not only do they help throughout the school, but they also feed our teachers during professional development days, coordinate volunteers, raise money to support learning, and more.  If you haven’t joined PTA, it’s not too late.
