Bio

I grew up in Muscle Shoals, Alabama and moved to Chattanooga in 1996 for the mountains and rivers. I love photography, backpacking, and to go whitewater kayaking. My wife and I are both veteran guides on the Ocoee River. I also love to play music with friends.  I was also an assistant wrestling coach at East Ridge Middle School for two years.

I am excited to be a part of the Ooltewah Elementary team and hope that I can enrich the lives of my students while teaching self reliance, self confidence, and instill a thirst for knowledge. I received my Master of Education degree from U.T.C. in 2012. I am new to public education, but have been teaching in alternative settings since 1995. My undergraduate work was in Experiential Education at Appalachian State University. Go Mountaineers!

My wife teaches 7th grade Science at Ooltewah Middle School and has a Master of Educational Technology degree from Appalachian State as well. We both believe that technology is crucial to reaching students and preparing them for the future. We have a son, Henry, who was born in May of 2012 and a daughter, Ada, who was born in December of 2014. They are my best motivators to see the potential in every student and to know how precious they are to their parents and our community.
